Help between appointments

If you have questions during the month, you can contact or visit the pharmacy for support rather than waiting for your next formal review.

Who May Be Eligible?

Weight management treatment options may be considered for adults who meet relevant clinical criteria, such as a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI of 27 or above with certain weight-related health conditions such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol or obstructive sleep apnoea. Suitability also depends on your medical history, current medicines, individual circumstances, treatment goals and appropriate safety checks.

Not sure whether you are eligible? Our pre-screening form helps the pharmacy team review whether a face-to-face weight management consultation is likely to be suitable before you attend. Book a consultation and we will assess you properly. There is no obligation to proceed with any treatment.

BMI Calculator

Meeting the BMI criteria does not automatically mean a prescription medicine will be recommended.

Your Safety is Our Priority

We do not follow a 'one-size-fits-all' approach. Our duty of care is to your long-term health, not just weight loss. If a medication is not the safest or most effective path for your unique health profile, our pharmacist will recommend evidence-based, lifestyle-led alternatives and prioritise your ongoing wellbeing over treatment supply.

Treatment Options That May Be Discussed

Some patients come to PeakHealth already wanting to discuss particular weight management options. During your pharmacist-led consultation, we can review your health information, goals and suitability before discussing which options may be appropriate.

Lifestyle and behaviour support

What it may involve

Support around realistic goals, food choices, activity, healthy habits, accountability and long-term wellbeing.

What to know

Recommended as part of every sustainable weight management journey.

Oral treatment options

What it may involve

For some patients, oral options such as Orlistat may be discussed where clinically appropriate.

What to know

Suitability depends on assessment, medical history and safety checks.

What it may involve

Some patients may ask about prescribed injectable treatments such as Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) or Wegovy (Semaglutide) during their consultation.

What to know

Prescription-only, once-weekly injectable medicines used in weight management, available only following a full pharmacist assessment. These options are not suitable for everyone and are only considered after assessment of eligibility, health information and safety.

Health Screening & Monitoring

What it may involve

Patients may also choose to combine their journey with our relevant Health screening or monitoring services such as blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes risk and more.

What to know

Useful for focusing on overall health, not only changes on the scales.

Note: All prescription treatments are prescription-only medicines. They are not available without a prior face-to-face consultation and clinical assessment.

Supporting Your Wider Health

Weight management is about more than a number on the scales. Our focus is not only helping patients lose weight, but supporting them to make safe progress, build healthier habits and better understand their wider health. Some patients choose to combine their weight management journey with health checks such as blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes risk assessment or wider health screening.

Convenient Collection Options

Collect Your Treatment Any Time — Our 24-Hour Collection Point

Where clinically appropriate, some non-refrigerated treatments, such as certain oral options, may be suitable for convenient collection through our 24/7 prescription collection point. Refrigerated treatments require appropriate collection and safe storage arrangements, which our pharmacy team will explain during your consultation.

What Our Weight Management Patients Say

"I had tried everything on my own and nothing stuck. Having Harvie sit down with me properly and actually explain my options changed everything. The face-to-face support made all the difference — I felt like someone genuinely cared about my progress, not just processing a form."

Margaret Mc.
Easterhouse

"Kez and Harvie were brilliant throughout the whole journey. From the very first consultation right through to my reviews, the team were always available when I had questions. I've lost over two stone and honestly feel like a different person. I could not have done it without that local support."

Paul R.
Baillieston

"I was nervous about talking about my weight but I was recommended PeakHealth Pharmacy by a relative. The consultation felt completely comfortable and private. Everything was explained clearly — the options, the costs, what to expect. It felt personal and professional at the same time. Worth every penny compared to doing it through an app with no real support."

Pamela W.
Shettleston

"I had always struggled with joint pain, especially being on the heavier side. But since losing over 4 stones now over the last year and a bit, it has completely changed my life! I can now go for longer walks and play with my grandkids like never before. I could not have done it without Kez and Harvie's support, they have been fantastic the whole way through. I felt properly listened to and guided throughout my journey! Thanks a million!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a GP referral?

No. A GP referral is not required for a private weight management consultation. We will ask for relevant health information and details of any medicines you take so we can consider suitability and safety.

What happens after clicking "Book a Consultation"?

Our booking system will display a list of services. Please select "Weight Management", then choose "Weight Loss – First Consultation" to begin the correct booking journey. You will then receive a pre-screening form to complete before you attend.

Why do I need to complete a pre-screening form?

The form collects basic health information before your appointment. This helps our team review whether the service is likely to be appropriate, reduces the risk of an unnecessary visit and allows your face-to-face consultation to be more focused.

Will I be seen face to face?

Yes. All weight management consultations take place in person at PeakHealth Pharmacy, 77 Lochend Road, Easterhouse, Glasgow G34 0JZ.

Who leads the service?

The service is pharmacist-led, with support from Harvie, our prescribing pharmacist, where clinically appropriate and Kez our local pharmacist. Our aim is to provide safe, professional advice and ongoing local support.

Can I get help between appointments?

Yes. If you have questions or concerns during your journey, you can contact or visit the pharmacy for advice rather than relying only on an online process.

Can I discuss Mounjaro or Wegovy?

Patients may ask our pharmacist about prescribed weight management treatments such as Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) or Wegovy (Semaglutide) during a consultation. These options are not suitable for everyone and are only considered following appropriate assessment, eligibility checks and safety review.

What is the difference between oral and injectable?

Oral and injectable weight management options work differently and have different suitability, safety and collection considerations. Your pharmacist can explain which options may be appropriate following assessment.

Are treatments for everyone?

No. Suitability depends on factors including BMI, medical history, medicines, weight-related health conditions and pharmacist assessment. Treatment is not automatically supplied following an appointment.

Can I collect treatment from the 24/7 point?

Yes. Some non-refrigerated treatments, such as certain oral options, may be suitable for 24/7 collection where appropriate. Refrigerated treatments require safe collection and storage arrangements and are not suitable for the 24/7 collection point.

Can health screenings support my journey?

Definitely. Some patients choose to monitor wider health markers, such as blood pressure, cholesterol or diabetes risk, as part of a whole-health approach to weight management. Visit our Health Screenings and Health MOT service pages for more information.

What makes PeakHealth different?

Online services typically assess you via a digital form. PeakHealth offers face-to-face support from a local community pharmacy in Easterhouse, Glasgow's East End. Patients can speak to real healthcare professionals, access confidential consultations, get help with side-effect management if suitable and receive ongoing support throughout their journey. Local collection of your treatment and continuity of care from people who know you. Many patients find that personal, local support is worth at least as much as the treatment itself.

How much does the weight management service cost?

Pricing depends on the type of consultation, the treatment option recommended and your ongoing programme. Oral treatment options start from £39 and prescription injectable treatments start from £139 (Prices are subject to change and will always be confirmed before treatment is agreed). We will always explain costs fully and clearly before any treatment is agreed or supplied — there are no hidden charges such as consultation fees and no treatment is ever supplied without your informed consent. Call us on 0141 773 2003 or book a consultation to find out more.
