New Oral Weight Management Options: Wegovy Tablets & Foundayo
Weight management treatment is changing, with more non-injectable options now becoming available for suitable patients.
Wegovy (semaglutide), already established as a weekly injection for weight management, is now also available as a once-daily tablet. This gives suitable patients another option to discuss during their weight management consultation.
Another new oral treatment, Foundayo (orforglipron), has recently been authorised in the UK for weight management in eligible adults. Foundayo (orforglipron) is now available at PeakHealth Pharmacy for eligible patients, subject to individual clinical assessment and suitability.
For us, greater treatment choice does not mean replacing proper patient interaction with an online-only service. Whether discussing oral or injectable options, our approach remains centred around sitting down face-to-face with patients, understanding their health and goals, and providing ongoing professional support.
